Belgian collaboration startup for building management and maintenance FixForm raises €1.5 million

Since its launch in 2021, the collaboration startup has already solved more than 100,000 problems in buildings

FixForm, the collaboration startup for building management and maintenance, has raised €1.5 million from a select group of Belgian investors. The funding will allow the founders to expand their solution and venture into new markets.

Human sensors

FixForm puts human collaboration at its core. Building occupants act as “sensors” by reporting issues directly. Through a location-based QR code or a user-friendly website, anyone can report a problem in less than 10 seconds—without needing to download an app or log in. The system, enhanced with AI, forwards the report to the appropriate person in charge. This eliminates the need for manual ticket creation, significantly reducing the chance of errors.

For example, when a lightbulb goes out in a nursing home, a family member can easily scan the QR code in the room, take a photo, and submit a brief description. The relevant contact receives the information instantly. Once the issue is resolved, the family member automatically receives confirmation. In this way, FixForm creates transparency and shared ownership.

Thomas Vanhumbeeck, CEO of FixForm, explains: “Nearly half of all building issues never reach the building managers. People often don’t know who to contact, or the report gets lost. This leads to frustration on both sides. FixForm bridges this gap by improving collaboration between facility managers and end users. With FixForm, building managers gain a clear, prioritized view of defects, enabling them to manage and maintain their facilities more efficiently.”

100,000 problems fixed

Since its founding in 2021, the Ghent-based startup has addressed more than 100,000 building defects. FixForm now has a team of 11 employees and operates in five countries, including the UK, Ireland, and the Czech Republic. Their clients include nursing home groups Armonea and Careion, investment firm Buysse & Partners, real estate company Quares, AZ Maria Middelares hospital, sports stadiums like those of KAA Gent and Club Brugge, and several cities and municipalities.
